Toronto Bespoke Tailor, Philip Sparks celebrates over 10 years in business in March 2017. Philip Sparks has been named the top mens-wear designer in Canada by the Toronto Star and a designer on the rise by Forbes magazine, with additional features appearing in The New York Times, Sharp Magazine and Toronto Life. Philip Sparks Tailored Goods are custom tailors located in the Junction neighbourhood of Torontos west end. Whatever your tailoring needs they can make it happen. All garments are made in house. The workroom is part of the showroom so you can experience the craft behind garments first hand. Because they make it all on site, they can quickly take care of small alterations while you wait possibly with a glass of bourbon or rye, a flip through their vintage record collection or a visit from the studio cat, Sofia. more... Meet the owner

Philip Sparks designs have been found on many renowned stages including the Canadian Opera Company, the National Ballet and the Stratford Festival. But in 2007, the former costume designer moved from the theatrical to the practical with his line of retro-inspired clothing.

“It’s all about nostalgia and vintage cuts and tailoring,” explains store manager Victoria Sinko. Partially inspired by antique notions and hardware, all of the clothing—from classic white button-ups to wool winter jackets—is designed in Philip’s studio, located in a refurbished factory in the Junction. But not only is it designed in Toronto, it’s also made in Toronto.

“It’s not easy to find something that’s made in Toronto from the very beginning to the very end,” says Victoria. “We’re one of the few.”

Channel your inner dandy at designer Philip Sparks’ retail boutique just off Ossington Avenue (just follow the glowing arrow if you get lost). Here the suits and separates have a nostalgic feeling; classic cuts and vintage fabrics are reworked to create a sharp contemporary aesthetic. Dapper shoppers can also invest in bespoke or made-to-order services. All of the menswear — along with bags, shoes and accessories — are made locally at the designer’s studio in the Junction.
