The Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women achieved another significant milestone this past weekend in Quebec City, Ottawa, and Victoria. Thank you to the generous support of participants, we raised $410,500 to benefit women's mental health programs at CERVO Foundation, The Royal, and CMHA Victoria. What an incredible week! We’ve just wrapped up our Eastern Canada Pharmacy Conference in Toronto — our largest yet, with over 1,400 pharmacists in attendance! From start to finish, the energy was electric. Centered around the theme Engage 360 – Commit – Connect – Care, the conference brought these values to life through every session, conversation, and connection made. Our opening night dinner reception was a highlight, as we proudly recognized our Pharmacy Teams of the Year and Pharmacist/Manager of the Year — a true celebration of excellence and leadership in pharmacy. A heartfelt thank you to every pharmacist who joined us and for the vital role you play in delivering care and improving health outcomes in communities across the country. It was great to represent Shoppers Drug Mart at the Arthritis Society Canada ‘Fashion on Fire’ event last night. In Canada, 1 in 4 women live with arthritis and 50% of those women are under 65 and juggling work, family, social lives, in addition to unrelenting pain, and do not need the additional stress of difficult zippers and clasps or ridiculous wait times for surgery and treatment. Fashion is for everyone, as is the right to live a healthy, fulfilling life. Kudos to the Arthritis Society Canada for a great event, and a heartfelt thank you to the Quo Beauty team for helping out with some award-winning glam and swag bags. Today is Menstrual Health Day, Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health is highlighting critical gaps in menstrual health education and awareness across Canada. Did you know that a staggering 1 in 4 Canadians that menstruate experience irregular or missed periods and heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding? New research commissioned by Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health reveals the difficulties faced by too many Canadian women experiencing common menstrual health conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. We're committed to closing these gaps and empowering women to advocate for their health and will continue to invest in resources and partnerships to improve menstrual health outcomes for all.  To learn more read our latest press release: 

On Red Shirt Day, Shoppers Drug Mart celebrates the power of inclusion. We are dedicated to breaking down barriers and fostering a culture of belonging, ensuring that individuals of all abilities have equal opportunities to thrive, both within our workplace and communities.

This past weekend, Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women events took place in Oakville, Markham, and Edmonton. We are proud to support our charity partners Halton Healthcare, Markham Stouffville Hospital, and Lois Hole Hospital for Women in their missions to provide vital mental health care to women. Together, we raised a record breaking $996,000! We're immensely proud to contribute to a brighter, healthier future for women across Canada.   Next stop: Victoria, Quebec City, and Ottawa. 

What a great event this morning in Markham, with the Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women with the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, supporting women’s mental health. Thank you to all the runners, families that supported and donors for an amazing event. Thank you to Mayor Frank Scarpitti for kicking us off, and to all the volunteers who made the event an amazing success.

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Mayor Brenda Locke to our Newton Surrey Pharmacy Care Clinic, located at 7322 King George Blvd, open every day. It was an incredible opportunity to share how we’re expanding care in Newton through minor ailment prescribing — helping Surrey Memorial and other hospitals focus on critical care. We received our first challenge coin from the Mayor - What a moment! A symbol of the commitment to keep our promise: expanding access to care, right within reach. Grateful for the support from the City of Surrey as we work to make a meaningful impact in our community. This weekend, our communities in Vancouver and Waterloo united to raise an impressive $462,000 for our valued charity partners, CMHA Waterloo Wellington and BC Women's Health Foundation.
